The time for talking is over. Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season is here! Every game has it’s own intriguing storylines and players to watch. We are about the get answers to all of our unanswered questions. These are my five biggest questions entering Week 1.

What does “unleashing” Kliff Kingsbury’s offense look like?

Arizona kept their plans close to their chest in the preseason, but Kingsbury plans to open the playbook now that the games count. We just that plan fail catastrophically for Chicago on Thursday night and that was with a second-year head coach and third-year quarterback — the Cardinals are deploying rookies at those positions. Luckily, the Cardinals are playing the Lions, who got annihilated by Sam Darnold in Week 1 last season.

This game has serious “car-crash” potential; it could go so horribly awry that you can’t look away. For the sake of my fantasy team, I hope Kingsbury knows what he’s doing.

Head coach Frank Reich of the Indianapolis Colts

Can the Colts or Chargers best withstand unparalleled adversity?

The preseason hit two teams harder than any other and they will face off in Week 1. The Colts franchise quarterback retired two weeks ago and somehow they are infinitely more prepared for the season than their opponent. The Chargers will be without four key starters: All-Pro safety Derwin James, left tackle Russell Okung, running back Melvin Gordon, and now kicker Michael Badgley.

Colts’ head coach Frank Reich has quite literally made a career out of being Plan B; if anyone is fit to lead this Colts team, it’s him. Meanwhile, the Chargers franchise history is fucking up when everything is going right.

Can Patrick Mahomes replicate his incredible 2018 season?

I think I speak for literally everyone when I say that I’m just excited to watch Mahomes play football again. I was hoping the Chiefs would get to play like Cincinnati or Oakland in Week 1 so we could see Mahomes essentially play real-life Madden, but facing Jacksonville’s elite defense might be even better. You know Andy Reid will have designed a few new wrinkles in the offense and the Chiefs added another human lightning bolt in Mecole Hardman. Plus, Jacksonville has the perpetual trash-talking Jalen Ramsey and a stud rookie pass rusher in Josh Allen.

Everything about this screams “must watch football”, as long as you remember to change the channel when the Jaguars have the ball.

Falcons-Vikings: Win or Go Home?

It’s obviously too early in the season for a win-or-go home game… but is it? Almost everyone has both Atlanta and Minnesota as border-line playoff teams, so it’s not inconceivable that a Wild Card tie-breaker is determined by this game.

Atlanta is healthy on defense and beefed up their offensive line. Minnesota revamped their offensive scheme to benefit Kirk Cousins. It’s a make-or-break year for both franchises and that should show in Week 1. This will be the best game of the 1pm slate.

Are the Browns worth the hype?

Baker Mayfield looks poised to continue his late season ways in Freddie Kitchen’s explosive offense. Nick Chubb has the keys in the backfield from Day 1. Myles Garrett and the entire defense oozes with talent and has been freed from Gregg Williams’ “coaching”. Did I mention Cleveland now has Odell Beckham Jr.?

The Browns infinitely increased their win total last season — that’s what happens after an 0-16 season. Growth is never linear, but is the Browns growth exponential or logistic?
